Too often, virtual meetings simply give us a great opportunity to catch up on email, especially if these meetings do nothing to grab and keep our attention. Planning, designing and leading virtual meetings demand new approaches and skills from even the most seasoned facilitator. In this webinar, you will explore how to design a realistic virtual meeting agenda, how and why prework enables better interaction, and some tips and techniques for encouraging active participation and consistent engagement throughout the virtual meeting. You will also learn how you can use both asynchronous (any time) blended with synchronous (real-time) participation for best results. Handling difficult dynamics of virtual meetings will also be discussed.

Nancy Settle-Murphy is president of Guided Insights, a facilitation, training and communications strategy consulting firm based in Boxborough, MA. Her specialty: Helping organizations achieve exceptional results within a surprisingly short time through highly-productive conversations that keep people actively engaged, regardless of location or time zone. By deftly using “blended facilitation,” Nancy enables people to participate in multiple ways, at different times, or at the same time. Navigating through cross-cultural tripwires and working across time zones is a special area of focus, with clients scattered throughout New England, across North America, and in Europe and Asia. Nancy’s new book, Leading Effective Virtual Teams, was published by CRC Press in December 2012.
