Registration

Duration: 3-hour workshop

About the workshop

“It’s a skill; it’s a choice.”
You Can Make Trust Happen

"Trust" is an elusive concept. It means different things to different people, and sometimes it takes on a “know-it-when-you-see-it" or "don't-see-it" quality. In this workshop, Dr. Jerome S. Paige and Dr. Cynthia O. Pace share their views on what gives "trust" its "ineffable" quality by elaborating how "trust" "co-appears" with self-trusting, trusting, trustworthiness, trust relationships, and trust structures.

If we understand it, we can get better at choosing "to trust" or not. In other words, we are free to choose.  Moreover, when trust happens, team members strengthen their relationships and eliminate second-guessing in the workplace.

Once participants understand the five dimensions of trust, they realize that trust is a choice and a skill. In addition, they recognize that they can enhance their ability and capacity to make wise trust choices. Furthermore, they know how to work better together

Learning Objectives

In this session, participants will:

  • Explore the Five Dimensions of Trust

  • Define/Discuss the Importance of The Five Dimensions of Trust in the Workplace

  • Reflect Why Trust Behaviors are Important to You and Your Clients

  • Practice Trust Building Activities

NOTE: This workshop will be recorded for distribution to all who register (breakout rooms will not be recorded).

This is a 3-hour online workshop. It will take place from 12:00pm to 3pm EST.

Speaker:

Dr. Jerome Paige (www.paigeandassociates.com) is an economics, business, and organizational consultant, with over 40 years of experience in higher education, public sector, and non-profit organizations.  He holds a master’s and a doctorate in economics from the American University and a B.A. degree in economics from Howard University. He is the principal in his firm, Jerome S. Paige & Associates, LLC. Dr. Paige is a “Five Behaviors Authorized Partner” and a “DiSC® Certified Trainer.” He is also a trained meditation instructor in the tradition of iRest® (Integrative Restoration) and offers meditation workshops.

Jerome S. Paige & Associates provides organizational consulting services in strategic planning, business development, performance measurement & management, and change management.  We assist them in demonstrating how they create and deliver value. Since we bring a fresh perspective to organizational performance, we provide leaders and managers with clear and easily graspable concepts to apply to ensure their organizations are mission-driven, opportunity-seeking, outcomes-based, and results-oriented.

A key focus of our organizational consulting work is around the four elements of “trust” -- mind states, behaviors, relationships, and structures. Why?  Fast-moving and change-focused organizations do not have time for “second-guessing,” and since “trust” helps eliminate “second-guessing,” it becomes for us “the glue that holds an organization together.” Thus, the importance of Wiley’s “The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team” in our work. We approach “trust” as if it’s an “inherent quality.” “Trust” Happens!” when its dimensions align, and we help organizations attain that alignment.
