Building our April CoP, we will spend this session exploring the meaning of equality, equity, and justice/liberation and how we might apply each as facilitators both to our work as well as the outcomes reached by the groups we support. In addition to exploring these concepts, we will seek to understand the barriers that exist for people of color in group discussions and how we as facilitators can use Conversational Intelligence to create more psychologically safe spaces to mitigate against these barriers.

Suggested pre-read: Building Trust: The One Skill We Can’t Live Without

Please note that this is for MAFN members only and there is limited space, so please register early. Session will not be recorded.

Our guiding principles are:

  • Come open to learning (growth mindset)

  • Not expert led- hosted by peers with space to learn from all

  • Create a brave space to focus on race

  • Share our truth and also listen to others

  • Start with ourselves = focus on the “inner work”

  • Treat others with kindness & honesty

Discussion Hosts: Fatima Argun, Constance Hope, Anne-Claire Frank Seisay, and Mae Cooper
