Putting Insights to Work in Facilitation: A Peer-Learning Workshop

In our DC Facilitators Workshop Series, we’ve covered a great deal of ground.  You’ve had an opportunity to put the insights you’ve gleaned into practice as you embark on your facilitation adventures. Undoubtedly, some approaches have proved to be resounding successes and you’ve incorporated them seamlessly into your repertoire.  Others may have needed some tweaking before you decide to put them in your line-up again.  While others, you found aren’t in sync with your style and have led you in some new, unexpected directions.

This peer-learning workshop will provide an opportunity to share your insights, tips, and experiences as you applied the lessons from recent MAFN workshops. This will give us all an opportunity to refresh our memory of this year’s insights and learn from the experiences of our colleagues in the room.

Our format will be similar to last year’s Squirms workshop as you will have an opportunity to rotate around six topic tables in multiple rounds. Each topic (except for the last one) loosely corresponds to one or more of the workshops held in the past year and will include the following:

  • Managing professional relationships
  • Applying brain science insights
  • Incorporating structured activities
  • Dealing with conflict
  • Managing dysfunctional behavior
  • Successfully surviving your most squirm-worthy moment of the past year

Based on the ideas captured by the table facilitators, MAFN will produce a record of our key discussion points including: Tools and Techniques, and Corresponding Results and Impacts.

Come prepared for a lively exchange!  Your experience is what will make this session valuable.

Although this session will be participant driven, Nami Ishihara, Kurt Kershow, and Dawn Rhine will provide context and move the group through the workshop exercises.

If registrant pays for an individual MAFN workshop session and contacts info@mafn.org to cancel before the registration deadline, MAFN will either credit the full registration fee towards a future workshop or process a refund, less a processing fee of $10. No refunds after registration deadline has passed.

If registrant pays for a MAFN workshop series and contacts info@mafn.org to cancel before the date of the September workshop, MAFN will process a refund, less a processing fee of $10. No refunds on or after the date of the September workshop.
