Solutions Focus was originally conceived to support conversations about organizational and individual challenges. At its core is one powerful insight: in any conversation we are either becoming more expert in understanding the nature of the problem, or we’re giving time and attention to developing a solution. It has become my favorite model for facilitation whether I’m leading strategic planning, a team conflict resolution or a leadership development retreat.

There are six different toolkits inside this model, each representing a distinct area of inquiry. The versatility of this model is you can choose just one of the toolkits or only two or three, and still engage people in a powerful conversation. It’s a menu, not a recipe, and my hope is that you’ll find something to love on the menu that you can use in your current practice.

To demonstrate it’s relevance, but also, to create a useful experience, I invite you to come to the meeting with an area of your practice (or your business or life) that you would like to improve. (You won’t be expected to reveal it, but it will help to have something real to apply the questions.) I’m looking forward to our conversation together.
