Since 2002, the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation has worked to engage, inform, connect, and empower those whose work focuses on doing those very things for citizens. By creating an infrastructure to support and connect innovators in dialogue, deliberation and public engagement, NCDD has generated and engaged an ever-growing community (now 2,000 members and 33,000 subscribers strong).

NCDD’s Director will present several resources NCDD has developed to advance the field of deliberative democracy - including the Engagement Streams Framework. This framework helps people navigate the variety of dialogue and deliberation methods available to them and decide which methods are the best fit for their circumstances. What do methods like Sustained Dialogue, National Issues Forums, Open Space, World Café and Future Search have in common, and how are they distinct? How do you decide which methods to use or build on? This webinar will explore the spectrum of dialogue and deliberation practice and where dozens of leading methods land on the continuum.

Sandy Heierbacher founded the National Coalition for Dialogue & Deliberation (NCDD) in 2002, with the support and involvement of 60 volunteers and 50 organizations. NCDD now represents more than 2,000 organizational and individual members and more than 33,000 subscribers. Under Sandy's leadership, NCDD has grown into a respected hub, resource clearinghouse, convenor, and facilitative leader for a growing community of practice centered around the practices of dialogue and deliberation. Sandy has an M.A. in Intercultural and International Management from SIT Graduate Institute, and now serves as a Research Deputy with the Kettering Foundation in addition to running NCDD. More about NCDD can be found at www.ncdd.org/about, and you can explore the network at www.ncdd.org/map.
