Biography
Laura Lazar Holbrook is a versatile facilitator who has extensive experience designing and leading engaging team building retreats for a wide variety of non-profit, association, federal, and for-profit organizations. She has worked with teams to address a such issues as: making the transition to new leadership and developing clarity about expectations; developing an appreciation of communication style differences and exploring ways to successfully navigate them; examining barriers to individual/team effectiveness and identifying strategies to overcome them; and identifying leadership opportunities in times of change and transition and pinpointing a plan of action moving forward. Guided by the insights gleaned during the pre-session needs assessment phase, she often incorporates assessments such as the Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (Laura is a Master Practitioner) and the Thomas-Kilmann Conflict Mode Indicator. In some situations, Laura steps back from her role as a facilitator to provide highly customized training components. (She has 25 years of training experience in the areas of leadership skills, performance management, and a variety of professional development topics.) The ultimate aim is to provide customized processes designed to ensure that all voices are respected and heard in a safe space; pre-defined outcomes are achieved; and a plan is in place for the team to move forward constructively.
