At the next MAFN Small Business Community of Practice, March 23rd at noon ET, we will meet Sue Heilbronner, the author of Never Ask for the Sale: Supercharge Your Business with the Power of Passionate Ambivalence. Sue will bring to life key concepts from her book. The first and more important concept is that your solopreneur company’s first product is you. Whether you are working on a proposal to a prospective client, or networking at a conference, you are selling. In this interactive session, Sue will help us as small-business owners get real about how we show up — in bios, pitches, intros, and every casual conversation that shapes perception. You’ll learn how to sell yourself with authenticity instead of artifice, how to clear the limiting beliefs that block your natural confidence, and how to write a 30 second bio that generates the followership that will drive your and your company’s success. Sue is a sought-after speaker, startup CEO, mentor, adjunct professor of entrepreneurship, facilitator, strategic advisor, Conscious Leadership coach, co-founder of the MergeLane investment fund, creator of the Leadership Camp training program, former federal prosecutor, and a direct and fearless catalyst for change.
Pre-work: Please come with a 30 second bio ready to share and work on with your peers. You’ll find instructions for how to develop your 30 second bio in Chapter 8 of the book. (Note that the book describes a 2-minute bio and a 5-second bio, but we’re asking you to draft a 30 second bio).
