Biography
Mariana is an experienced design thinking consultant. She believes that radical change is needed in the way organization approach the creation of both success and sustainable growth. Mariana’s practical approach to fostering innovation starts with asking powerful questions to clarify the design challenge. Next she uses her extraordinary ability to empathize with clients and help them uncover both unmet and unstated needs. She uses simple and easily understood tools drawn from a variety of organization development models to develop creative and viable solutions. She leverages her innate ability to connect diverse set of people to get buy-in for change. Finally she always empowers the organizations she works with to carry on human- centered design on their own by creating sustainable communities of practice.

Mariana has worked with a number of organizations as a design thinking coach and facilitator including: Arlington County (Virginia), The Millennium Challenge Corporation, and Northern Virginia Family Service. She has designed and delivered workshops to solve complex problems which have not responded to traditional methods of problem solving. She is a passionate advocate and has spread the philosophy and impact of human-centered design in conferences and workshops.

Mariana has a Master of Science in Organization Development and Knowledge Management from George Mason University and has a BA in Business Administration from the Universidad de Buenos Aires, in Argentina.
Project Descriptions
 consulting to NVFS SERVE to sustain them and their related programs' long-term viability and impact
 Introduced the Design Thinking framework at The Arlington County Parks and Recreation Department, with the goal of further reaching and engaging limited English Proficient Arlington residents
 Helped Missarmia LLC's owner divise innovative ways of sharing, and scaling up arts-integrated math instruction to children dealing with poverty and other learning deficits
 Provided a learning environment for staff to experience and practice the use of two OD tools – Action Learning and Design Thinking while solving a real customer service problem in two Arlington County departments
 Assessed the DC Bar Foundation modus operandis and created a strategic plan to help them improve their internal business processes
 Helped improved retention showing research-based evidence by demonstrating the need to build leadership training to all managers in the County’s Department of Human Services
