Lea Johnson is the President of NuViewPoint, Inc., an opinion research firm headquartered in Northern Virginia. Lea oversees all aspects of managing the firm. However, she prefers to spend her time working directly with clients on projects that allow her to use her extensive facilitation and moderation skills.
Lea has been a “professional” facilitator for over 15 years. Before that, her focus was on large information technology systems development as a consultant with Booz.Allen and Hamilton, BDM and Unisys. As a young girl, Lea wanted to be a marine biologist. After 3 ½ years of study, she decided that a degree in Computer Science would be more appropriate if she wanted to sleep with a roof over her head. And so the story goes….she graduated from Florida Institute of Technology with a BS in Computer Science and started her career in the IT world. She quickly discovered that writing code was not for her and gravitated to facilitating the discussions and negotiations between system developers, system owners and end users. Here she found a home. Early in her facilitation career, Lea enjoyed working with groups on defining system requirements, negotiating software release capabilities, and designing deployment programs that are realistic, fun and successful. Over the years, Lea has expanded her experience and skills to include the facilitation of meetings and workshops focused on strategic planning, stakeholder enrollment, leadership development, conflict resolution, creative problem solving, organizational development, and community relations.
As a Certified Professional Facilitator, Lea’s clients can be confident that she understands and applies the methods and techniques necessary to successfully provide facilitation services including managing the event, the process, and the participants.
Lea has over 25 years management consulting experience with federal, state and local governments, non-profits and private organizations in the areas of opinion research, change management, quality improvement, business process reengineering, strategic planning, systems integration and high performance team building.
As president of NuViewPoint, Lea is dedicated to conducting opinion research that provides valuable insights that help organizations and businesses compete and thrive in today’s economy.
